We were started the project on April 2005.There were 2 computers only.Then the SEMP of Uva provided us 15 computers.There after we were able to conduct some creative work.First we needed to introduce the technology to the children.So,we went to see the exhibition in the University of Moratuwa in October 2005. There after we held a ICT exhibition in 2006 and it was the largest in the Uva Province in Sri Lanka.It made a revolution on ICT in our village.There after we were stepped up to utilize the ICT for development.Almost everything is uploaded,regarding our village to the net now.We hold continuous guiding workshops every month in our village.Most work shops are holding village temples,Devale's,remote schools,teacher training centres,government offices etc to keep update on ICT.Not only we organise field trips too.Some time we walk door to door to educate our villagefolk on ICT.
We held high level presentations in various places,ex.we were exhibits of Neethi Udana 2007 which was organised bythe Ministry of Justice in Sri Lanka.
We have uploaded most videos on Danigala Aboriginal Veddas,Nilgala Herbal Park,Ancient Bokagonna Devale etc.Most people are appreciated our effort.Among most popular videos the Karadugala Blind Lady video was the top.The Lankanewspapers sponsored to build a house for them.
We are upgrading knlowledge from various workshops.Our most recent resource people were Mr.Lalith Salgado(Canada),Mr.Nimal (Bandarawela) etc.
There are approximately hundred children of 3 batches are following ICT and English from TechnoVillage Media.SEMP Uva provided us some trainings in Colombo which was the first visit of children to the capital city.
Now,all the village folk are most interesting on ICT.Farmers,officials and most of our children study the subject with courage.
Our founders were Mr.A.De Silva,Manager-SEMP(Uva),Mr.Hemasiri Dharmasena-Legal Officer,Mr.Ekanayake (ICT teacher),Mr.Attanayake-Bussinessman,Mr.Wasantha,Mr.Indrajith,Miss.Chandrika (School leavers) of our village school.
